Marks & Spencer do holographic nail polish

Whilst out and about shopping in town I popped into my local Marks & Spencer and browsed their new make up and nail polishes. I had read on a couple of people's blogs that M & S do a holographic nail polish, and to my delight I found it!

Now at this point I don't know how well this applies, or wears as I haven't had a chance to put it on yet, so I will do another post on this soon. It cost £7.50 it is just called 'Rainbow' and as you can see from the bottle the holographic effect is quite intense, I hope this translates to the nail.

I also bought a hand soap for the bathroom and another nail polish from the older nail polish line. The soap cost £1 which is a bargain and I got the scent watermint, light and fresh which I like. The other polish is called bright aqua and is a green base with a light blue sheen and silver flecks. This one cost £3.

I wanted to take a quick picture of one of the make up shelves, but I was getting strange looks from the shop assistant, so it is a bit wonky.

I was impressed with the range at M & S, lots of fab colours and at a reasonable price. Have you tried any of the nail polish or make up range from there?

The twins!

As already mentioned in my last post, we went to collect a kitten (or two) on Friday after work. Well, we went for two! They meowed all the way home which was horrible, but they soon settled down and had some food, used their litter and explored their new home.

They wind each other up, chasing each others tails, but they also do everything together! If one uses the litter, the other will hop in too, also if one jumps on the sofa to go to sleep the other snuggles in next to him. They are both little boys and we haven't really decided on names yet!

We have thought of calling one Butter and the other Scotch, or Leopold and Horatio!  At the moment they respond to 'kitten' or 'baby'. Does anyone have ideas for kitten names?

A new arrival (or two maybe)

This is a scheduled post, by the time you read this my other half and I will be on our way to collect a new addition. A kitten! or two! We are on our way up a town called Silverton which is about 45 mins drive from us. We went up to see the lady last week to 'reserve' the kitten we really wanted. There were five kittens in the litter and we said to the lady that we would love to give two kittens a home but we don't know yet for sure if we can have two. I will do another post over the weekend with pictures of the new babies.

Here I have done a paw print mani, quick and easy:

Using Barry M in black and Models Own in Snow White I just used a dotting tool to create the spots to make up the paw prints. Quick and easy.

I will update as soon as possible with kitten pictures! Have a great weekend and if you are in the UK a great bank holiday weekend.

Electric Purple

Whilst out shopping I noticed that my local Accessorize had brought in a new stand stocked with nail polish, eyeshadows and pencils. I had never tried any of their polishes before and one creme shade really stood out and that was Electric Purple.

I love this shade, I don't own any purple like this, it applied so well, this is two coats.
I also used a dotting tool and created little flowers using China Glaze frost Bite and China Glaze Ahoy!

These polishes are £4 each and come in lots of shades, I have my eyes on a couple of other polishes so I will be stocking up soon. Have you tried any of the Accessorize polishes?

Cocktail eyes

Like I said in an earlier post I had a friend come to visit me over the weekend, I took him into town for cocktails.

This is a pink pussycat, champagne, crushed strawberries and ice.

The second drink, had gin, lime, vodka and something else..... I can't remember what it was called though! It tasted like old fashioned cloudy lemonade with a kick. Very nice!

It had been a while since I had used bright colours on my eyes, so going out for a few drinks was a good excuse. This is the look:

After applying a base of Maxfactor smokey eye effects (I used the white end) I used eyeshadows from the Sleek acid i-divine palette. I used the silvery grey on the outer corner followed by the red-ish purple on the middle of the eye then the brighter blue on the inner corner.
To finish I used a Too Faced glitter eyeliner in Mad Mad Love on the upper lash line, the glitter isn't obvious in the pictures, but does catch the light well. The I used black mascara (Maybelline Falsies) to finish the look.

Multidot

Hope everyone had a good weekend? I had a friend visiting me and and inbetween collection a massive triple wicked candle from a lady in another town, going to the DR and picking up my friend from the train station I needed a quick and easy manicure.

I haven't worn anything on my nails all week, I have had an ear infection and have just felt pretty icky, been having early nights and work has been really hectic I just didn't have time to sort my nails out.

Something quick and easy, dots! Arg my top coat smeared the dots a bit, but it wasn't too noticeable in real life.

Base colour is two coats of Barry M Pure Turquoise and dots are Essence in Break Through, Barry M Spring Green and Wet n Wild Red Red/Rouge Rouge.

I dig indigo

I forgot I had Barry M Indigo and I wanted to use something richer on my nails rather than my usual summery lighter shades.

I painted two coats of Barry M' s Indigo, I left the accent nail which I painted with LA Girls Vinyl Record. To finish I stamped with Konad SP in white using the leopard print design on plate M57.

I am so mad, I snagged a nail and it ripped right across really short and it hurt a lot! I have never been one of those "I broke a nail" kind of girls, but I used to bite my nails badly when I was younger and so it takes me a while to get all the nails long and strong. Now my one nubbin looks silly :-(

On a more positive note: I love these two shades together

Candles, candles, candles

I went shopping and saw that Cargo had a summer sale, they had lots of candles on offer, which is my weakness. I love candles, but also a lot of my friends like them too, so I used this as a good chance to stock up on some birthday and Christmas presents. Here are a few bits i bought for other people:

Cute pink butterfly candle with pebbles!

These were all in the sale, they were all reduced to £2.49 or £2.89 each.
So these are all for other people, I couldn't not get a couple of goodies for myself! I just got some scented pillar candles.

These were all half price! bargain!

This is my candle set up at home in the living room: I don't have them all lit at the same time, I only light the candles on the top tier, the others on the middle and bottom shelf I keep there and rotate to the top shelf to be burnt at some point!

Do you like candles? I have heard so much about Candles by Victoria in America, it is a shame there is nothing UK based who make the same pretty and scented candles at a reasonable price.

Millionaires shortcake pudding

I just love my cakes and sweet treats: this is millionaires shortcake pudding, it was fab!
