Marshmallow Blends - Like a kid in a sweet shop!

Some of you may remember my earlier post of the caramel cupcake body scrub which I was send from Marshmallow Blends a few months ago.

Nicoletta is a fellow blogger who I have been following for months, infact she was one of the first people I followed when I started blogging back in January 2011. Her blog is here. She set up a home business called Marshmallow Blends which sells bath and beauty products inspired by bakery, cakes and sweets.

If you have a sweet tooth like me, these products are right up your street. The caramel cupcake scrub had me hooked right away.

I wanted to share what I bought:

I am so excited she has started selling soaps!

The top one is called Pink Sugar Lips soap, just look at that black, pink and white marble pattern. On the top is a pink soap lip with glitter, it has notes of cotton candy, vanilla, lemon and caramel. The smell is divine, just gorgeous and sweet without being sickly.

The second soap is called Cream Caramel soap slice, this looks just like a piece of cake with the fudge pieces poking from the top. All I can say is that this soap smells like Worthers Original sweets. Those from the UK will know what this means, anyone who doesn't know about Worthers Original - they are hard caramal butter sweets. Smooth and creamy and just amazing.

Both of these soaps cost £3.50 which I think is a fair price for a hand made soap and they are big. I will end up cutting these in half. All the soaps are SLS free which is a bonus.

Next up we have some bath melts - these are Bakewell Tart melts, £2.99 for a pack of 3. These smell amazing but are very fragile and have crumbled a little bit, so please excuse the pictures but you get the idea. I love the extra details, the little heart on the top for a cherry and the zebra and pink cupcake cases.

Finally I got a Chocolate Orange soft hearted lotion bar - £3.50 - this smells just like Terry's Chocolate Orange. The chocolate and orange don't fight to overpower each other, the balance of the two scents work in harmony together, complimenting each other well.

Nicoletta was kind enough to pop in 2 samples of products for me to try as well: Lime and Coconut Body butter and Carrot Cake body scrub.

I placed my order on Sunday and the package was with me on Tuesday, very fast postage which is impressive! I recommend checking out the products on the Marshmallow Blends website http://marshmallowblends.co.uk/home.html reasonable prices for the most amazing smelling hand made bath and body products.

Caramel Cupcake Body Scrub by Marshmallow Blends

Some of you may have heard of a lovely lady called Nicoletta and her blog Nicoletta's Beauty Space. Recently Nicoletta has started experimenting and created some bath time goodies. The initial experimenting and many hours of slaving in the kitchen has now become a fully flourished online shop which I am very excited to share with you.

The site is called Marshmallow Blends, the name gives a clue as to what sorts of bath and shower treats to expect. Get ready for lots of delicious bakery scents and adorable cupcake shaped bath treats. I had expressed an interest on the Caramel Cupcake body scrub which I had seen on the facebook page and so I asked Nicoletta about it as I couldn't find it for sale on the website. Unfortunately the scrub wasn't ready for sale at that point, but I was prepared to wait. Nicoletta got in touch to say I had been awarded fan of the week on the facebook page and  she wanted to sent me a tub of the body scrub for me to test and review.

So, here we go, I introduce Caramel Cupcake Body Scrub:

First of all the packaging is simple but traditional which I like, just a straight to the point clear name sticker on the front of the tub stating what is held within and the brand name in pink text. I think if there were any decorations or any other text the tub would cluttered.

The smell is to die for, I cannot even begin to describe how good this smells to me. I am think freshly made fudge, very sugary, sweet. However, this scent is more of a natural cookery sweet smell, rather than artificial sweet like Snow Fairy from Lush (which I also love too!)  there is a big difference. The sugar in this scrub is so strong and does remind me of baking a cake.

The texture and consistency of this scrub is wonderful, it is more of a paste and therefore is not runny (I find a lot of scrubs such as Sanctuary too runny) but once my skin was wet in the bath and I began massaging the product on it was as if the actual scrub particles started to melt, turning the paste into a light creamy lather.

After rinsing the scrub off my skin felt soft and moisturized, but not oily, which is good. I find some scrubs which have shea butter in leave my skin feeling a little oily which I am not so keen on. With this scrub my skin was smooth without having the oily feeling. The scent lingered on my skin for about an hour or so after I got out the bath.

I love my scrubs to be quite abrasive, I don't like the scrubs where there are beads which pop, they do nothing for me. The texture of this scrub for me was perfect, not too coarse, just right.

At this point the scrub is not yet on the website to buy as Nicoletta is still testing it out, but I believe it will be soon.

I am not sure how much this will cost, but the rest of the products on the site are good value considering everything is made fresh and it small batches to ensure everyone gets a good product. Other goodies include mini heart shaped massage bars (trio in scents Strawberry Cheesecake, White Chocolate and Cookie Dough, £5 for all three and in a cute box) different scented body butters such as Pink Sugar and Feeling Peachy £5.99 and Coconut Ice solid body scrubs £3. I am going to be placing an order once pay day roles over and try some other items out. I am very keen to try out the bath bomb cupcakes and bath melts.
