Sarah's seaside crafts

I just adore handmade arts and crafts, I love that each item can be unique and can jazz up your home. I discovered through facebook a lovely lady called Sarah who lives near me who makes items from driftwood and sea shells.

I bought a gorgeous mirror which cost £10:

Ok, my picture really doesn't do this piece justice so I am going to use some of the pictures from Sarah's facebook page. I did ask her for permission to use these images.

I just love the mirrors with hooks on, you could hang necklaces, or keys on them.
If you are able to discover craft fayres or even pop along to your local market at home I highly recommend browsing. You could come across a bargain. I already know I shall be buying some more bits for my friends for Christmas.

Highlighter pink

I love my Star gazer neon pink, but it is very sheer and it is a very light pink, so I went on the search for a a more dense neon pink. I found it!

This is Punki Pink by Nina Pro.

I still painted a white base coat (I used Models Own in Snow White) to make the colour pop even more. I am so annoyed with my camera not picking up just how bright the colour is! It is way more vibrant and neon than my pictures show. I wanted to jazz the mani up with dots too.

I also painted Models Own in Feeling Blue on my middle finger.

Red, blue and silver

Another polish Nicole from Noir Lacquer sent me for our last swap is Wet 'n' Wild Red Red/ Rouge Rouge. This is the first red nail polish I have owned. So I used it to create this manicure.

I applied two coats of the red polish, waited for it to dry then using scotch tape on a diagonal painted two coats of China Glaze Frostbite. Once that had dried I peeled the tape away and using a dotting tool dotted along the line where the red and blue met. I used China Glaze Cheers To You.

I applied China Glaze non chip top coat afterwards.

Summer holo with pastel dots

I love the Milani 3D holos Nicole from Noir Lacquer sent me in our last swap, they are great on their own though take a bit of building up with multiple coats to get a solid finish. They also look great layered over other polishes.

The manicure I have been sporting for the last couple of days consists of Models Own Top Turquoise on all my nails, then one coat of Milani 3D Holographic in Hi-Tech over the top of all my nails (apart from the accent nail which I left at just the MO TT)

I love the way the holographic looks over the turquoise base, it just gives a bit of a lift and changes the colour to a much lighter green with hints of gold, which I love.

I then used my new dotting tool and dotted away, these are the colours I used:

Models Own in Fuzzy Peach

Models Own Pastel Pink

Models Own Lemon Meringue

Models Own Top Turquoise is the base coat (I applied two coats)

Not forgetting the holographic Hi-Tech from Milani

Hope everyone is having a good weekend?

Have your cake and eat it

One of my absolute favorite things to eat is cake, I love the stuff! Especially washed down with lots of cups of tea. My old faithful is chocolate fudge cake, with clotted cream, or chocolate sauce. I also love coffee cake.

I went out for a catch up with a friend recently, she had a diet coke and a bowl of cheesy chips, I had a tea and this:

Chocolate fudge cake with strawberry sauce and double cream, it was divine! Needless to say I was very full afterwards.

Remember me telling you about mum's work friend who made me amazing cupcakes for my birthday? Well she made some more, this time for mum's birthday. They were delicious, still can't believe she is not a professional. She really should be.

I also opted of chocolate roll and Devonshire clotted cream at my best friends wedding at the beginning of June. Are you a cake person? If so, what is your all time favorite?
