Vampy Flakies

Nail polish fanatics have a huge array of the most amazing top coats to choose from. Crackle polishes, glitters, mattes and one flakies.

Flakie top coats, in my opinion, are one of the best ways to instantly jazz up any nail polish. I find they tend to work best on a darker base colour.

Even on shorter nails like mine, dark colours and and a flakie top coat look lovely.
I used two coats of Hanover Square from Nails Inc which was a freebie in Glamour magazine.

The flakie top coat is called Rainbow by Gosh. I absolutely love it, it flashes between gold, copper, green and yellow.

What do you think of flakies? Have you come across this one by Gosh?

An Oldie But a Goodie

When there is the slightest hint of sunshine out pops the holographic nail polishes. Holographic  by Gosh is an oldie but a goodie. I had bought this polish years ago, it was one of the originals.

Gosh re-released the holographic polish calling it a party varnish for one night. This was a good call, I am not the only one who didn't get on with the original formula. It was hard to apply, went on with bald patches and chipped almost instantly, even with a top coat.

At least with the newer bottles, people don't expect it to last more than a few hours.

As horrible as it is to work with, there is no denying just how beautiful it is.

Taste The Rainbow

Bouncing back from the let down that was Take A Trek from China Glaze's Hologlam collection I dug out an old favorite.

Gosh Rainbow - a gorgeous flakie polish:

Two coats of a plain black polish and one coat of Rainbow Simple but eye catching.

Jolly Holly Rainbow

With all the bright polishes around at the moment I was craving a darker vampy colour, two coats of China Glaze Jolly Holly with one coat of Rainbow by Gosh.

The flakies became copper in colour over the dark green, I tend to prefer this Gosh polish over darker colours, I find the effect is more obvious.

I am still on the look out for Finger Paint flakies, I keep checking ebay....
