I was playing around with some Konad stamping, using two coats of Buffy The Violet Slayer (wet n wild) and stamping with Konad special polish in white and using plate m57 with the zebra print I came out with this:
This is before top coat, see the white polish is all crisp and the pattern is nice and obvious. I applied a coat of SV and this happened:
See what I mean? What happened to my white Konad stamping? Don't get me wrong, I do quite like this muted design, but it isn't obvious I have a stamp on my nails. I have no idea why this has happened, I never have this problem with the black special polish and top coating with SV.
Has anyone else ever come across this problem?
I have tried something similar, where the stamping colour pics up from the colour underneath when the top coat comes on. I've tried that a silver stamp turned golden because it picked up green-ish pigments from the colour underneath. Very strange.
ReplyDeleteI like your mani though. I think the white turned into a really cool purple. :) Xx
I actuall prefer the after buthow strange. I have the white and I've never had a problem! :/
ReplyDeleteOh my! I don't think I've seen that happen before! Strange!
ReplyDeleteI think looks nicer after the top coat because the colours blend so well together but I see what you mean about the white fading.
ReplyDeleteThat is ... super weird. I haven't stamped before so I can't relate, but I would be completely baffled. Looks great, though!
ReplyDeleteStrange, but at least it looks cool!
ReplyDeleteYou just put the SV on too soon :P
ReplyDeleteI have a bright purple polish (No7 Violetta) that seems to 'suck up' any colour you put onto (including leaching and fading all the colour from glitters) no matter what you do, maybe that's what happened to yours too!

What the heck? That is so strange! I've never used the Konad special polishes before so i can't say on behalf of their brand, but in general, this has never happened to me before with any brand.
