Cheers To You on this Holly-Day

I hadn't done a sponge gradient manicure in a while so I whipped out Holly-Day from China Glaze (2011 Christmas collection) and Cheers To You, also from China Glaze (2010 Christmas collection)

I am loving this Holly-Day green shade, I applied two coats, I did find it a little runny, so I was careful, but it is such a gorgeous dark green.

A little messy but you get the idea of the colour.

I do like these two polishes on their own, but I am not so sure how I like this manicure on me, my sponging isn't great and I feel like their is something missing, another element, another colour to go on after the silver? Hmmm, I just am unsure, thoughts please?

Evergreen meets Cyan Blue

Another quick and easy sponge manicure using Models Own Evergreen and Barry M's Cyan Blue.

One coat of Barry M's Cyan Blue,  then using a (clean, unused!) kitchen sponge lightly sponge on Models Own Evergreen from the middle of the nail down to the tip.

I love sponge gradient manicures, they are quick and easy and the beauty of this technique is that you don't need to be precise.

Beth's peacock rainbow

I hadn't used my Gosh Rainbow flakie polish in a while so I dusted that off and used it over a sponge manicure of Models Own in Beth's Blue and Models Own in Peacock.

Beth's Blue is a light blue-ish lilac whilst Peacock is a shimmery green but has hints of purple and lighter green running through it. Rainbow by Gosh is just an amazing flakie, much larger pieces that Nubar's 2010 top coat.

Just a few more pictures :-)

An interesting attempt

I wanted to try a sponge gradient manicure, this is my first attempt, I used three polishes from Models Own, Top Turquoise, Fuzzy Peach and Lemon Meringue.

I painted a base of Top Turquoise and allowed it to dry, then on a new washing up sponge I pained on some Fuzzy Peach and sponged it lightly from the middle of the nail to the tips. I then did the same with the Lemon Meringue over the top to allow the fuzzy peach to peak through a little.
