Sanctuary Spa Covent Garden: Mum To Be: Ultimate Retreat Hat Box

As many of you already know my husband and I are expecting our first baby this spring. One of my sisters-in-law bought me some mum-to-be pamper goodies for Christmas.

Here we have the Sanctuary Spa Covent Garden Mum To Be Ultimate Hat Box. Phew, what a mouthful.

This pamper back contains some gorgeous products including a fluffy pair of socks, a shower puff, collagen boosting body butter, stretch mark oil, tummy soothing bath soak and cooling leg and foot gel.

I love that the hat box contains products formulated for mums-to-be, all the goodies contain ingredients which help the skin during pregnancy.

All the products smell gorgeous, relaxing but not too sickly or overpowering. In my opinion, the best product is the stretch mark oil. My stomach is taking a battering and I have developed a few stretch marks over the last few weeks. The oil really helps to sooth the skin. I use this at night time before bed.

Any other mums-to-be have any more pamper goodies they swear by? If so I would love to hear all about them.

Pregnancy update: 20 week scan - blue or pink?

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

I am a bit behind with this post, I am now 23 weeks into my first pregnancy but have only just got round to posting this update which is my 20 week scan.

I don't know why, but I was really nervous ahead of this scan, I was worried something would be wrong.
However the sonographer found the heartbeat right away, phewww!

After doing all the usual checks the sonographer said she could tell us the gender of baby if we wanted to know.

Right from the get go I knew baby was a boy, my husband had thought baby would be a girl. We even had a £10 bet on. The sonographer said my husband needed to get his wallet out because I was right!

We are having a baby boy!

Can't believe I am more than half way through the pregnancy, that has gone by so fast. At the moment I have a horrific cold and you can't take Lemsip or any other cold and flu medicines when you are pregnant.

Pregnancy - Those first few weeks - Don't freak out

A few days ago I posted my most exciting news to date. My husband and I are expecting our first baby in April 2015. Trying to conceive and those first few weeks of early pregnancy were filled with dread, anxiety and worry.

I searched around on the internet for some words of comfort and advice and couldn't find much in way of blogs. Normal people going through normal pregnancy worries. I want to change all that, I am going to write a pregnancy post once a week on what I am going through and how I coped.

When we made the decision to come off contraception to start a family I naively thought I would get pregnant straight away, or at least a couple of months of trying. Wrong. It took us nine months.

Now, nine months doesn't seem like long to someone on the outside, but at the time it seemed forever. I was looking around and seeing teenage mums popping children out without even a blink. I would hear of people having children after forgetting to take one pill in their pack. Why was it taking us so long.

It seemed the more we wanted it, the more stressed out we became. We did everything, eating right, DTD (doing the deed) every other day which is what doctors recommend. Nothing seemed to work. We were both taking his and hers tablet supplements.

I then started worrying, what if this was all pointless? What if we couldn't physically have children? Our GP told us they wouldn't even consider doing tests until we had been trying to conceive for a least 18 months. That didn't do anything to help calm us down.

In the end I tried Clear Blue's digital ovulation kits and guess what, it worked first time.

Perhaps it was all down to timing, who knows, the body is a weird and wonderful thing.....

A new addition to the family for 2015

My husband and I are pleased to announce we are expecting our first baby in April.

I had my 12 week scan earlier this week and am so relieved everything is ok.

I will start doing pregnancy posts on my blog as well as my usual food and makeup posts.

Looking forward to seeing what the next few months hold.
