Fab, Friendly Fridays

Hi everyone, tis Friday, tis nearly the weekend thank god! Work has been so hectic this week, we have had a few people off on holiday and I have been given the lovely task of covering as well as doing my own usual work. I am looking forward to having a couple of days off!

Right, on to another Fab, Friendly Friday.

First up is a lovely purple sponge gradient manicure from Leslie over at Nail Polish Art Addiction. The three shades of purple she chose compliment each other so well.

Leanne at Do Not Refreeze has done a post about two Deborah Lippmann polishes, red ruby slippers and Pretty Young Thing. Basically she wasn't thrilled with these higher end polishes. As many of us know, Deborah Lippmann polishes are expensive and Leanne was trying them out to see if they lived up to the hype. It was interesting to see a post with an alternative point of view of these pricy polishes as most posts I see are people raving about them. I have never tried them, so I can't say what my thoughts are.

Claire of clairebelle0309 did a post showing what she is currently using in her daily skin routine. Claire has a few Liz Earle products, I haven't tried this brand before but lots of people seem to love this brand. I am keen to try it out though.

Nicola at Welcome to my world has done a post about some Soap and Glory products which she has been using recently. I am a big fan of S&G, I sent some products to Nicole at Noir Lacquer in our recent swap. My fav product from them is 'Some like it hot' self heating body scrub.

Finally for this week, Louise at Affordable Treats shows us what she has picked up from a  shopping trip. Loving the look of the over the knee winter socks with the snowmen on.

Hope you have a great weekend

Fab, Friendly Fridays

I am glad it is nearly the weekend! I have just felt so tired from work recently, there is so much going on, I am taking advantage of a lie in. What have you got planned for the weekend? On to Fab Friendy Friday for today:

First up is a great NYX haul from Sarah over at Unleash The Beauty. Sarah shows us the goodies she picked up from a recent sale NYX had a while back. I love the look of the sparkling glitter powders, one can never have too much glitter. She also has some nice swatches of the glide on eye pencils, there is a vibrant blue which looks amazing.

Next up is Liquid Jelly who did a great post about her first attempt at needle marbling, the patterns she created using pink and black polishes are pretty and unique and seem more delicate than water marbling.

Adrienne from The Sunday Girl has done a picture heavy post on different seasonal Lush products, a Very Lush Christmas.  I love looking at the soaps and different goodies, everything is so bright and colourful. I don't have a Lush where I live, the nearest one is in Exeter which is a good hour or so drive away. I am planning on taking a trip down there soon to do some Christmas shopping soon, so I will pop in and pick up a Snow Fairy shower gel (hopefully they will have some left, this one is so popular) I love the look of Adrienne's pictures of Angels Delight soap and Northern Lights soap.

Deb E from It's Always Something has done a post on her black cat Minion who had to go the vets for his boosters and by the sounds of the caption in the last picture, he also went in for the snip snips. It made me giggle when I saw the picture of Minion dressed in an orange Halloween bandana which the vets had put on him. Being a mum for two little kittens I have such a soft spot for cats and kittens and love reading about other blogger's babies and seeing pictures.

First off I want to say congratulations to Louise from Lou Lou Land who has been listed/featured on Grazia beauty blog round up. Well done Louise. Louise has also done a great post reviewing the much talked about Tangle Teezer brush. I have to admit looking at pictures the bristles seem to short and flimsy to take out any large tangles but so many people have said they were a bit sceptical at first then converted once they had tried it out. Louise gave this a positive review, I am now keen to try it out for myself.

Fab, Friendly Fridays

Woop woop, Friday is here, nearly the weekend! What are your plans? Welcome to another Fab, Friendly Friday.

 Source

First up I loved reading all about tasty Halloween cakes and treats from Save The Date For Cupcakes. She did a post called Orange and black Halloween Dessert Table. So many adorable looking delights for Halloween parties. I loved the look of the chocolate mousse cups with wooden ice cream sticks as tombstones. Would be a good decorative piece if you are hosting a party/get together.

Carolina from the blog Colores de Carol did a great Halloween inspired water marble manicure This look would work perfectly well without the black Halloween stamping over the top. She marbled oranges and pinks then stamped some spider designs as well as pumpkins and other Halloween-esque bits and bobs over it.

We are fast approaching autumn/winter and so there are always going to be coughs and colds doing the rounds. GretalRabbit put together a great post on how to deal with a cold 'Surviving a cold'. She gives her tips on what she does to overcome the horrible sniffles.

Leslie from Nail Polish Art Addiction put together a great manicure where she free hands stripes. The lines are so straight I thought she used scotch tape until I read her notes. She called this post Fall Stripes and used a mixture of polishes: Zoya, China Glaze, Sally Henson and a brand I haven't used before Cult Nails. Gorgeous colours work so well together.

Finally Buttons and Bunnies has done a great post on how she organizes her lush products. She bought a cream cake stand and popped everything in it. It looks great and I was surprised to discover the stand only cost around £7.49 from Homebase.

That is all for this week's Fab Friendly Friday! Have a good weekend folks.

Fab, Friendly Fridays

This afternoon I am introducing Fab, Friendly Fridays.

Every Friday I am going to mention five posts by five bloggers which have caught my eye and have enjoyed reading over the past week.

For my first Fab, Friendly Friday I would like to give a shout out to these five bloggers:

Meredith from Polish and Charms did a great post called Milani Gems over black, looking at all the glitter made me really want to crack open a glitter polish myself. Milani Gems looks amazing over a dark base, the glitter particles really stand out.

Next up is Nail Crazy whose title for a nail polish post made me laugh, Poop on my nails....according to my son. The polish in question was a mustard-ish shade from Catherine Arley and it is a holographic polish. She took lots of great pictures which showed off the glistening holo effect. Gorgeous.

Nicole from Noir Lacquer is not only a fellow blogger, but ever since our first swap a while back I regard her as a friend. We stay in touch via e-mail and it is such a great thing to have met someone who I get on so well with. This one of the reasons why I love blogging, the people you meet and friends you make. Nicole is currently doing the 31 day nail challenge, I love her post called Brown & Blue Polka Dots.  The two shades just work so well together and this was the first time she had used a dotting tool, the whole mani just looks amazing.

Allie from Lush Lacquer did a post called Revlon - Facets of Fushia I have never come across this Revlon shade before, but it is a great purple glittery polish. Different sizes of purple glittery particles suspended in a dark base. Allie then applied a matt top coat which made the manicure look even better. I am now on the hunt for this polish!

Bicky from Tastes Like Glitter was one of the very first bloggers I looked up to, she inspired me  to set up my own blog. She was my first follower too. I love Bicky's blog posts, she does amazing make up and nail posts, but recently she has been posting about her cats and life in general which is great. I loved the post she did called Holo Tips. She painted her nails with China Glaze IDK and then did French tips with China Glaze LOL. Drool! I love those holographic polishes.

And this is what Fab, Friendly Fridays is all about!

I have just realized that all my choices this week are nail posts! That wasn't intentional!

What do you think of my idea for my weekly post?
