Fantasy Fire over Aruba

I dug out my Maxfactor Fantasy Fire and layered it over Essie's Aruba which is a stunning deep blue colour.

As most of you have probably seen, Fantasy Fire is a stunning multicoloured polish. Many have been comparing it to Clarins 230 polish, I haven't tried this so can't say for myself how closely related they are. However, from other people's images the two polishes do look like a very close match.

Fantasy Fire itself is very sheer, I have tried it by itself before, but even four coats didn't look great to me. I think this polish is best as a layered. Here I put two coats of it over one coat of Essie's Aruba blue.

I have seen people layer this over black which also looks stunning.

MaxFactor Fantasy Fire - Naked

I have a previous post on MaxFactor Fantasy Fire where I layer it over a Barry M polish, but I wanted to show what FF looks like on its own.

As I already mentioned, it is a gorgeous polish but it is so sheer and in these pictures I am wearing four coats and the nail line is still visible.

This is a stunning polish but on its own it needs too many coats and when I was wearing this polish alone I had tip wear after a day.

I will definitely only be wearing this layered over other polishes.

MaxFactor - Fantasy Fire

I stumbled across MaxFactor Fantasy Fire whilst flicking through some blogs, the name stood out to me before the pictures did. I then read that some people are comparing it to the rare and expensive Clarins 230 polish. Then I went into town and picked up a bottle Fantasy Fire (£3.99)

Hope you are ready for lots of pictures!

This is a sheer polish, I started painted a nail and knew straight away it would take multiple coats to reach a solid colour so I layered it over China Glaze Coconut Kiss.

Two coats of Coconut Kiss and two coats of Fantasy Fire:

Fantasy Fire is a shimmering duochrome polish, mostly purple and blue tones, but in other lights it has golden, green and amber lacing through it. Stunning. I would definitely say layering this over a blue or purple is the way to go, it would take several layers if used by itself, the bottle is tiny so you would use it up very fast.
