Dior - Velvet Peony Extract Foaming Cleanser

For the last few years I have been using Estee Lauder's gentle foaming facial cleanser. The smallest amount goes a long way so the tube lasts a long time.

Recently my mum bought Dior's velvet peony extract foaming cleanser, so I thought I would give it a try.

This is what Dior say: "This pearlescent gel turns, upon contact with water, into generous foam that enfolds makeup and impurities before they are pleasantly rinsed off. Working at the core of the formula, moisturizing agents ensure the comfort of dry skin.

"For greater comfort, a neutralizing agent traps all traces of hard water deposits to restore the skin's sweet pleasure in water. Soothed  by velvety peony and gently high-performance textures, the skin is perfectly revealed: it remains clear, supple and velvety smooth."

The gel smells light and fresh, but it didn't foam up as much as I would like. It rinses off well and didn't leave a film on my skin like some gel face washes tend to do.

It left my skin feeling smooth and after using eye makeup remover, this face wash took off the day's makeup.

This face wash costs around £28 which is pricey, my usual Estee Launder foaming face wash is £21.

Holiday On Ice - Energia

Last night I went down to Westpoint in Exeter to review the new show by Holiday On Ice called Energia for my work. I love reviewing shows as I get press tickets and most of the time I take my mum with me. We always go for a meal before a performance so all in all it is a great evening out.

I had to leave work a little earlier in order to make my way down to Exeter from Barnstaple but needed to have a quick and easy make up look that would last all evening. I quite fancied some glitz and glam so glitter was a must.  This is what I came up with.

For the eyes I used three Barry M Dazzle Dusts, Lilac on the inner corner, Gold in the middle and Electric Blue on the outer corner. Then I applied a very generous amount of Heavy Metal glitter eye gel in Power Ballad by Urban Decay all over then finishing off with black mascara on the lashes. For the rest of my make up I just used Estee Lauder Lucidity foundation in No4 and a lip gloss from Smashbox called Peep Show. (Sorry about the light showing in the second photo!)

The Show itself was just amazing, those dancers were superb and they must spend so long perfecting those routines. I highly recommend going to watch a Holiday On Ice show if you ever get the chance.

From the office to the restaurant

On Friday a group of my friends from work went out for a meal and drinks, it was to celebrate someone's birthday, so everyone was really looking forward to having a few cocktails and a dance.

We had a table booked at Prezzo for 6.30pm, so not much time to get ready by the time we had left the office.
I had already straightened my hair that morning so luckily I was sorted in that department! I needed something easy for my eye make up. So I applied a generous helping of Urban Decay liquid liner in Radium to the upper lash line, once that had dried I went over the top with Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter eye liner in Air Guitar. To finish with I applied Models Own big brush mascara.

This is how the look turned out......

I quite like this bright glittery look for the eyes and best of all it is so quick and easy, ideal if you are going straight from work to a party or drinks afterwards.

Here are the products I used for this look....

Estee Lauder Lucidity foundation in no 4
Urban Decay liquid liner in Radium
Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter eye liner in Air Guitar
Models Own big brush mascara
Maybelline superstay in brilliant bronze.
