Life pleasures which are underrated

I came across an article which mentioned some life pleasures which were underrated. With that in mind I thought I would put together some things which I think are underrated. Here is a run down of the little things which make me happy throughout the working week...

Fresh bed linen

Getting through that mountain of laundry

Having a clean car (inside and out)

Climbing into bed after a long soak in the bath

An ice cold drink

When the rain is hammering it down outside and you are still curled up in bed knowing you don't have to get up

Clean makeup brushes

Lighting a new candle

Getting a text message from my husband, my mum or best friend

Hearing my cats purring

The feeling of washing off a face mask

Taking off chipped nail polish

The first spoonful of a piece of cake

What are your life pleasures? I am sure there are more I can add to this list!

Glam Crystals - by Collection (2000)

I have been a massive fan of Urban Decay's glitter eyeliners for years. However, at around the £11 mark they are quite pricey and what's more, there are no stores in North Devon which stocks the brand.
I have found a cheaper alternative in high street makeup brand, Collection.

Collection (formerly known as Collection 2000) are a purse friendly makeup brand. Their Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liners are some of the best eyeliners I have come across.

From left to right: Spandex, Rock Chick, Funk, Le Freak, Dancing Queen, Hustle and Pizzazz.

I have also recently bought Shake it up which is a deep purple and Jade's Rock It glitter liner from the Little Mix Collection.

What I love about these eyeliners is how pigmented they are and how easy they are to work with. No matter which colour I use they build up so easily. If I am in a hurry I sweep one of these glitter liners on my upper lash line and add a coat of mascara to my lashes and I am good to go.

The glitter in the liners are finely milled and don't feel scratchy at all, the product itself dries fast one applied and lasts all day. Each liner only costs £2.99 and in my opinion, they are on an equal footing with my beloved Urban Decay liners.

Have you tried any of the Glam Crystals glitter eyeliners? If so, what do you think?

One Heck of a Blot - Soap & Glory Powder

Soap & Glory are well know for their bath and shower products. I am a big fan of their Some Like it Hot thermal scrub and Clean on Me shower gel. I bought some of their makeup in the January sales and was so impressed I wanted to try out some of their core line products.

I had a £5 off voucher for Soap & Glory products so picked up their One Heck of A Blot translucent mattifying powder. This compact contains a puff and a mirror which makes it great for throwing into your handbag.

I apply it in the morning with a fluffy brush then use the puff to top up if I need to throughout the day. However, I find this powder really helps keep shine at bay. There is a difference between dewy and oily - and we don't want the latter.

This powder is brilliant at keeping skin shine free throughout the day and it doesn't feel heavy which is a bonus. It doesn't clog up pores and makes the skin feel look and feel great. It costs £12 which is on the higher end of translucent powders, but it is worth every penny.

Mac Candy Yum Yum

I was in Bath recently and stumbled across a MAC counter, it was a very quiet Sunday morning so I took advantage of browsing the array of products without being barged out the way.

I bought my first MAC lipstick and instead of playing it safe and going for a subtle colour I went for full on neon, colour explosion.

MAC Candy Yum Yum:

This lipstick is matte so can be quite drying on the lips and can show a multitude of sins, be aware of flakie or dry lips because a matte lipstick won't look good. (I love the bubblegum lipscrub by Lush and Blistex medicated relief cream.)

However, you can put a nice gloss over the top to give it a sheen if you prefer.

What is your fav MAC lipstick?
