Freebies with UK magazines

We all love a good bargain, or even better a freebie. Recently I noticed UK magazines have been giving away some brilliant free gifts. I thought I would share some with you....

First up is the November issue of Marie Claire:
This month's freebie is a hand cream by L'Occitane.

Next is Company with two free mini nail polishes:

With the November issue of Cosmo you get a free St Tropez Instand Tan face and body lotion.

November's In Style you get a set on mini Ren products

All these magazines are in the shops at the moment, have you bought any? Do free products influence you to buy a particular magazine?

Collection's Little Mix - Rock It Liner - Jade

I love Collection's glitter eye liners, for a few pounds you can't really go wrong. Collection, formally Collection 2000, brought out a line after collaborating with girl group Little Mix.
I picked up this:

I didn't pick this up because I am a fan of Little Mix, I bought it because of the colour, I mean, just look at it. It is stunning.

The other glitter liners in the range weren't anything special and were very similar to other shades in the core line.

The Little Mix range also has eye shadows, nail polishes, mascaras and more. All products are still inkeeping with Collections usual price range. The glitter liner I bought was £2.99. I believe the most expensive item are the nail wraps which are £5.99 for 20 wraps. Bargain.

The glitter liner itself applies smoothly and effortlessly, I tend to wear a slick of this on the top lash line, pop some mascara on and you are good to go.

You can look at all the Little Mix items on Superdrug's website.

What are your thoughts? Would you pick up any of the items?

Ciate Nail Foils

If you saw my last post which was about my Vogue magazine purse, you would have seen I have spent the first part of the week in Falmouth, Cornwall for a spa break.

Mum and I went shopping in Truro and spent a long time sifting through TK Maxx for bargains. One of the things that caught my eye was a Ciate foil nail kit. It was under £10.

In this kit you get a Ciate nail polish, the one in my kit was Pepperminty, foil nail glue, a swatch wheel and a selection of foils, including pink, blue, silver holographic, yellow and pink. I had used nail foils before without too much luck so I was keen to test these out to see how they compared.

First step is to paint your nails with two coats of the polish, and you can use any base from any brand you like, but it is nice this kit came with a polish. Wait for this to totally dry. Then paint on a thin layer of the glue, wait until the glue becomes clear (it has a pearly sheen when first applied) then take the foil, place it on the nail and press firmly.

Remove to see the foil has transferred to the nail. However, I found if you lightly and quickly dab the foil you get a nice random coverage. I used pink and yellow and finished with a top coat.

This is a bit messy, I was a bit trigger happy with the glue but hopefully you get the idea! I like the random placement of the foils but you can totally cover the nail with the foil. I think these bright foils would look brilliant with a dark, vampy base polish.

All in all I enjoyed using the kit, it is nice to add some extra sparkle to a manicure and it looks different to a glitter topcoat. The process didn't take too long either.

Have you tried nail foils out before? What did you think?

Vogue Magazine Print Purse

I have been enjoying a week's holiday and during my time off work I went to Falmouth, Cornwall with my mum for a spa break.

I went to uni in Falmouth to study journalism and graduated five years ago. The seaside town is somewhere I like to visit every so often for a trip.

This new purse is one of the things I picked up in Falmouth:

It features front pages from Vogue magazines, I hadn't seen a purse like this before, I had to pick it up.

The brand is Dejinli and it cost £12.50, not bad at all. My previous wallet from River Island had seen better days and I was on the look out for a new one.

I like big wallets, something I can find easily in my handbag and this one is perfect. It has space for cards, several compartments for cash and a clip compartment for coins.

What do you think of this purse?
