Graffiti

I picked up this Graffiti top coat from the bargain brand Seventeen recently:

Two coats of Electric Purple by Accessorize and two coats of Graffiti.

My nails are pretty short at the moment and I can't help think that this topcoat would look better on longer nails.

Overall though I really liked the look of it, something like this could really jazz up any plain polish.

Taste The Rainbow

Bouncing back from the let down that was Take A Trek from China Glaze's Hologlam collection I dug out an old favorite.

Gosh Rainbow - a gorgeous flakie polish:

Two coats of a plain black polish and one coat of Rainbow Simple but eye catching.

Take A Trek - China Glaze Holographic - A bit of a let down

I was in my local Sally's store in Devon when I spotted the recently released Hologlam holographic collection from China Glaze.

They only had one of each polish and a few colours had already been snapped up. I bought two colours, Take A Trek and When Stars Collide.

Take A Trek is a deep blue holographic polish and When Stars Collide is a deep plum/maroon shade.

With a bit of summer sunshine over the weekend I tested out Take A Trek.

I have to admit, I am a little bit disappointed, it doesn't seem as holographic as their  other collections.

The holographic look in this particular polish is weak compared to others in my collection. However, it is still very pretty.

Have you tried any of the Hologlam polishes out? If so, what did you think?

Barry M Bright Cremes (and an explanation why nail paints have disappeared from shelves)

This is a very simple manicure but I love how the bright colours work together - I also love how easy a shiny creme nail polish is to wear.

Two Barry M nail paints, Cyan Blue and Spring Green. One of the great things about Barry's polishes is their price and quality. The normal nail paints are £3.99 and last just as well as higher priced polishes.

If some UK #bbloggers are wondering why some Barry M nail paint polishes have been disappearing from shelves, here is why.

On Twitter they said "We had some cracking issues on a very small # of our bottles due to over-filling (nothing to do with the nail paint itself"

"So we've withdrawn these bottles from Boots just so we can double check they are all ok."

I guess once all the checks have been done then Boots and Superdrugs will be stocked again.

Hotski Tchotchke - My Shellac Wedding Nails

I can't believe it has nearly been a month since I got married, a month tomorrow infact.

Since we were going away on honeymoon straight away I knew a normal manicure wouldn't last. I had booked myself in for a Shellac manicure a couple of days before the wedding. I had Shellac manicures a couple of times before and loved the way it lasted, the shine it gave to my nails and the fact it gave my nails a chance to grow and become stronger.

Now, don't get me wrong.

A traditional French manicure is lovely. I mean, it is a classic isn't it? Clean and neat. However, for my wedding day I wanted colour. My colour scheme was teal so I chose this for my nails:

I went for this teal shade from CND Shellac called Hotski Tchotchke. This colour matched my bridesmaid dresses exactly! I just adore this shade, it glows!

Yes, my other half had Pac Man cuff links - the red ghost on one cuff and Pac Man on the other.

I am pleased I went for a coloured manicure for my wedding, it really shows up in the pictures and lasted for most of out honeymoon too.

Famous Golden Plum - Vampy Polish in Summer?

I love my neons, glitters and holographic polishes at any time of the year. Lots of people use summer as an excuse to bust out the brighter polishes in their collections and leave the deeper hues for autumn/winter.

I fancied a change. I have never been a slave to trends, I wear what I want, when I want.

This is Golden Plum, Famous by Sue Moxley:

This polish is a gorgeous vampy plum with golden coppery tones lacing through it. This is two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

I bought this polish a while ago when everything in the Famous by Sue Moxley line in Superdrug was half price. I think I picked it up for £2.50.

I haven't seen the Famous line in my local Superdrug branch since, I am not sure if it has been discontinued? Can anyone help shed some light?

Bath & Body Works Wall Flowers

When I was on honeymoon (pictures coming soon, we went to Dubai and Mauritius) I managed to do a little bit of shopping.

We went to two malls in Dubai, which were very Americanised, Bloomingdales, Bath and Body Works, Forever 21.

In Mall of the Emirates I popped into the Bath & Body Works and picked up some plug in wall flowers.

I picked up: Spice, Lemon, Island Margarita, Black Pepper Bergamot, Frosted Cupcake, Caribbean Escape, Paris Amour, Pineapple Mango, Eucalyptus Mint, Japanese Cherry Blossom, Fresh Linen, Sensual Amber, Dark Kiss.

The only thing I did notice was that the price of everything in Dubai was very expensive. Three cans of coke worked out to be over £10! Even in the shops, the prices were higher than other countries.

The scent throw on these is fantastic, more effective than Glade or Ambi Pure which I normally get in supermarkets back home.

I have bought enough wall flowers to last me a while but once I run out I will have to track some down, probably from ebay.

Who else thinks Bath & Body Works needs to come to the UK?

Meteor Match with Bows

Looking at pictures of #bbloggers manicures on Twitter made me want to sit down and paint my nails and whip out the Konad. Since we got back from honeymoon last week I haven't been wearing any polish.

I did a post about this Leighton Denny polish months and months ago and it just caught my eye in my collection.

This is three coats of Meteor Match and a bow stamp from Konad plate M59. I used Konad special polish in black to stamp.

Quick and easy.

Stacked Polishes - Blackheart Beauty

I just stumbled across these amazing stacked polishes on Hot Topic online. Stacked nail polishes by Blackheart Beauty.

How amazing do these look? They are in a glass skull bottle and each polish (there are a few other colours too) has at least three colours inside.

From what I have seen from other #bbloggers swatches the polishes do separate on the nail.

I am not sure how long these have been around for but they seem to be a USA brand.
Does anyone know if we can get these in the UK? or if a UK brand does something similar?

SPLASH - New flakies from Models Own

Models Own have done it again and announced they are bringing out yet another nail polish collection.

The SPLASH collection looks like a flakie range, this is what Models Own have to say: "A completely unique glide-on glitter in gleaming jewel shades."

Each polish has five rough cut glitters called Aqua Splash, Pink Paradise, Red Sea, Golden Shores and Mermaid Tears.

These can be worn alone or layered over another varnish.

They will be £5 each and will be launched from the company's Westfield Bottleshop on Saturday, May 11. From May 13 the collection will be online and in Boots stores across the country from May 15.

My Wedding - April 13, 2013

I haven't posted in a while, I got back home from honeymoon last night. In the run up to my wedding, which was on Saturday, April 13, I didn't write on my blog. The weeks leading up to the big day are a bit of a blur, there was so much to sort out.

The image below is of Hartland Abbey in North Devon which is where our ceremony took place. We had our wedding breakfast and evening reception at a place which over looks Westward Ho! beach.

This is Alice, one of my bridesmaids, we had three bridesmaids and a bestman and two ushers.

I did my own wedding makeup but had a lovely girl from a local salon do our hair.

The picture above is me with the bestman.

These are just a few pictures taken from friends and family, the professional pictures haven't come back yet.

The day itself was wonderful, everything went smoothly, no dramas.

I had a shellac manicure done for the day and I went for a vibrant teal.

If you would like a step by step on how I did my make up, let me know!
