Gritty, Sandy nails - yay or nay

One of my favourite UK brands, Barry M, is launching their new line of textured nail polish in February.

I have seen some pictures of Nails Inc textured polishes, it looks just like someone has freshly painted their nails then dipped them in sand.

Sounds odd? To me, it looks odd too.

Out of habit, I would want to slap on some Seche Vite to smooth over all the lumps and bumps.

However, I can’t deny, the effect is unique and interesting. Barry M will be releasing four colours, Ridley Road – green, Station Road – yellow, Atlantic Road – blue and Kingsland Road – pink.

From swathes I have come across, all the polishes dry to a matte finish.

These polishes from Barry M will cost £3.99 – what do you think? Will you be trying out this new trend? Personally, I would prefer Barry M to launch an affordable line of holographics.

Matte Magnetic

I bought a load of the magnetic polishes from 17 when they were released last year. I hardly wear the though because I find they chip really easily and I got tip wear quickly with them too. However, for a night out they are great.

I used the dark green magnetic polish and topped with Rimmel's Matte top coat:

The magnetic polishes dry fast and I find the 17 products easy to work with, I think this might be because of the cap. The cap comes away from the lid of the polish bottle which I find makes the whole process less fiddly. The cap has a nifty lip which you rest near the cuticle. This means there is less chance of the magnet touching the wet polish.

Have you tried magnetic polishes? What are your thoughts?

Bath and Body Works UK

I have done several posts on the Bath and Body Shop before, this is where I pick up some Bath and Body Works products. Living in the UK getting hold of these American products is tricky, but this company sells some of the soaps, Slatkin and Co candles and the pocket bacs.

This time I picked up creamy pumpkin foamy handwash, fresh sparkling snow gel handwash and Slatkin and Co candles. Creamy pumpkin and pumpkin caramel latte.

The soaps are expensive, around £6, so I won't be making this a regular purchase, but I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. They leave a light scent on my hands which lingers for a while. The candles are lovely, these two have a better scent throw than Yankee Candles.
