Bundle Monster plates

After buying the dotting tools on Amazon my next purchase was the Bundle Monster 25 piece set, it cost £16.99. I am a fan of Konad but fancied testing out the BM plates to see how they compare. There are lots of awesome designs on their plates, I love the Halloween designs, they have pumpkins, bats, haunted houses. Also there are lots of cute full nail designs.

I used a full nail design from plate BM 222 for my first mani, I painted my nails with two coats of China Glaze Ahoy then stamped using Konad's white special polish.

I really like this intricate design

China Glaze Ahoy is an amazing pink with gold shimmer, it is one of my fav pinks, such a deep colour.

The BM plates were fine to use, the designs seemed to be quite rough to touch on the plate and the actual plates seem to be thinner than the Konad ones. I am going to try out some more designs and see how these come out. I have heard some people saying that they found the BM designs difficult to pick up on the stamper or that they didn't transfer as well as the Konads.

For a first attempt I like the way it has turned out.

Still using the dotting tools

Hope everyone had a good weekend? The weather Saturday in North Devon was quite gloomy, Sunday was a scorcher which was lovely. It was so hot outside, I was sat in the garden, reading magazines with my feet in a bucket of icy water to cool down.

I used my dotting tools (again) to create this design:

Two coats of Models Own in Lemon Meringue then overlapped lots of dots around the tips using China Glaze in Turned up Turquoise and Flying Dragon, Collection 200 Hot Looks in Show Off.

Arg, my nails are really short again :-( but I still like the way this turned out.

I finally bought some dotting tools

I finally bought some dotting tools! My biro wasn't up to the job so I ordered a set of five double ended dotting tools from Amazon. This is my first attempt at using them.

White base is Models Own Snow White and I used four different colours for the dots.

Ice creamed leopard

Two nail polishes I have in my collection which I haven't used in months are Barry M Berry Ice Cream and Lemon Ice Cream. Both are creme finishes, Berry is a light lilac colour whilst Lemon is a pastel yellow.

I painted two coats over my nails then used the leopard print stamp from Konad plate M57 and the special Konad polish in black.

I then finished with SV topcoat.

Ooooh I have ordered some Bundle Monster plates from Amazon, so hopefully they will arrive soon. I am really keen to try them out to see how they compare to Konad.

Blue and purple pastels

Here is an eye shadow look I created using Barry M dazzle dusts in Baby Blue and Lavender.

After applying primer and my usual white base (Maxfactor smokey eye effects) I applied Lavender on the inner corner and Baby Blue on the outer corner.

I then applied liquid black eye liner on the upper lash line and a generous helping of Maybelline Falsies mascara. Next I applied Eylure Naturalites Volume Plus false lashes. I then curled my lashes so my lashes and the false ones blended together.

Playing with neon and glitter

I am having a few days off work which has been great, I haven't done too much but it is nice to just mooch around, have a few lie ins. I was playing around with my Sleek Acid eyeshadows again and this is what I came up with.

After priming my eyes I applied the white end of Maxfactor Smokey eye effects as a base. Then using the bright pink on the inner corner, orange on the outer corner and yellow on the crease. Next up I used three types of Urban Decay's glitter eye liners in Baked, stage Dive and Air Guitar.
Finally I used my fav mascara Maybelline Falsies in black.

I love playing around with new looks, I just love Sleek's Acid palette, this is the only item I own from the brand and would like to try out more products. They are always bringing new products out, so I am going to keep a look out to see what the future holds.

I was curious.....

I gave in and bought a crackle polish, I got the Barry M one in black, I actually got this a while ago but never got round to using it. So I wanted to give it a try.

These are the polishes I used as a base:

Models Own - Feeling Blue
Models Own - Snow White
Models Own - Fuzzy Peach
China Glaze - Turned up Turquoise
Nabi - Bright Purple

This is how each looks with the Barry M crackle top coat:

Models Own Feeling Blue

Models Own Snow White

Models Own Fuzzy Peach

China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise

Nabi Bright Purple

I am very on the fence with this particular crackle top coat.

I quite like the way it looks over Turned up Turquoise and Feeling Blue and no two nail effects are the same. You can get different crackle patterns depending on how thickly (or thinly) you paint the top coat on. On my left and right hand you can see how differently it turned out.

Thin coat
 Thick coat

I used China Glaze non chip top coat over the crackle, it dries to a matt finish and I much prefer a glossy finish. The consistency of the Barry M crackle is very thick and I had to work quickly otherwise it can dry before I had a chance to try and paint it evenly over my nail.

I like the novelty, but I won't be buying it in different colours or different brands.
Do you like the crackle trend or are you fed up of companies bringing out their versions? I for one would much prefer a holo trend.

My best friend's wedding

On Saturday it was my best and oldest friend's wedding.

I did a reading in the church and was so nervous but I got through it without any mistakes. Public speaking doesn't bother me, it was who I was doing the speaking for. Alice looked gorgeous and I am so happy for her. The ceremony was lovely and not a dry eye in the house.

So many people wore white dresses, I am not sure how others feel, but I always thought wearing a white dress to someone else's wedding is a massive no no. I wore a bright blue dress with sliver embellishments round the neckline. It was from Monsoon around three years ago.

I woke up bright and early to go into town to get my hair done for the day, Ricardo my amazing stylist created this masterpiece.

As you can see from the top pictures, I had a bit of height on the top and a side pony tail with curls. Then he created this gorgeous hair piece at the back. Lots of hair spray and grips were used as well as my clip in extensions.
I had lots of compliments on my 'do', so thanks to Ricardo for this.

Here are some more pictures from the day:

It was the most amazing day and Alice looked stunning, I got so emotional when her dad mentioned me in his father of the bride speech. The couple are off to Rome on their honeymoon shortly. I am so glad the rain held off on the Saturday, Sunday was terrible, it did not stop raining all day.
